Met Gala has taken over our Instagram’s and we aren’t even complaining!

All of our Instagrams are flooded with Celebrities in their Met Gala Avatars. Some funny, some preposterous, and some Out-of-this-world. We’ve been flooded with memes of celebrities who stepped down in literally crazy outfits. As a matter of fact, little do we know that each year Met Gala announces a theme (think of a Theme Party) and celebrities go out of their way, and comfort zones may be to do justice to the themes.

This Year the theme of the Met Gala was “In America- the Lexicon of Fashion” where the fashion creatives let out their ideas of the American spirit of Fashion, adventure, and spirit. While, when I first came to know about the theme and tried relating it with the costumes celebrities came up with, my mind literally was confused. Why?  How?  I am sure a lot of yours would be too. However, it’s all about interpretations and perspectives, and this year’s Gala was unpredictably one of the most intriguing Costume Events ever.

What caught my attention was a few costumes that touched the peak of creativity. Undoubtedly, the costumes designed by ace designer IRIS VAN HERPEN were the ultimate winner for me. It’s impossible to even describe in words how gorgeous the styling, the silhouette, and the colors were.  While being creative these garments didn’t even look absurd (unlike a lot of other costumes ) and they have my heart.

I assume we are on the same wavelength of appreciating this fabulous designer and her fabulous creations now that we’ve seen her phenomenal work. While social media focuses on promoting outfits and costumes that didn’t work well by creating memes, on the positive side, I really hope it’s also flooded with appreciation for artists who deserve it.
